Mainly rallying and touring cars, but if it has an engine I am interested

Present car

Subaru Forester and when allowed Karen's Skoda Fabia VRs, also my old Citroen is still on the drive along with Karen's even older Maestro

Rally career

Back in 1984 a Slaithwaite club member who was related to me convinced me that rallying was ‘less expensive and less time consuming than gliding’, which was my hobby at the time! Since then I have navigated all over Britain, also in Holland and Belgium and started the ‘proper’ RAC Rally a couple of times

Motorsport Ambition

To get out in one piece with my bank balance still in the black! The old RAC Rally is still ‘unfinished business’ as I never managed to finish it.

Successes

Highlights are winning the ANCC Stage Navigator Championship over all and also the Class award a couple of years later. Also quite a few class awards along the way.

Marshalling

Have done everything from ATC’s to Stop lines, 81 Radio and Rally Track, I have been stage commander on the Opposite Lock once – but I have never done a passage control.
