Married with one son (James Crosland).

Motorsport interests

  • Chairman and chief marshal of DBMC

  • Competing or helping on local motor club events

  • Stage Rally marshalling or safety radio

  • Used to compete in Land Rover trials

Present car

Currently using a Land Rover Freelander for everyday transport and going out to marshal on rallies. I also have a Suzuki Ignis sport for the fun bits

Rally career

Started doing club events in 1971 and did my first road rally in 1972 in a 998 Mini, progressed to stage events a few years later in the Mini. Since then driven Escorts, MG Midget and another Mini in rallies even competed in a MG 1300 at one time. Co driven in a variety of cars with a variety of people up to national level. Best event I have competed on was the Jim Clark even though we did not finish. But at least I was on the same event as a Mr Rodger Clarke.

Motorsport Ambition

Would still like to compete on some stage events if I win the lottery just. But as long as I am enjoying helping on events we will have to stick with that.

Successes

Who needs successes when you meet lots of nice people and ducks out in motor sport.

Sporting

No time or money for other sports I have to sponsor James on his horse

Marshalling

I will continue as long as I am fit and able and get pleasure from it.
